Thoth is the Egyptian god of writing, magic, wisdom and the moon who is said to have been self-created or born of the seed of Horus from the forehead of Set. These two deities represented order and chaos, also making Thoth the god of balance. He is often depicted with the head of an ibis and wears a lunar disc above his head. He was a divine example as a just judge and an incorruptible official. His feminine counterpart was Seshat. In this highly detailed piece, Thoth is artistically captured writing on papyrus as the inventor of the written word. It's intricately sculpted in cold cast bronze, a process of mixing bronze powder with resin to give it an authentic metal appearance, and the colored details bring Thoth to life. This 11 x 3.75 x 3 Thoth statue is great as a gift sure to excite any mythology lover or lover of Egyptian history.
